Released in 1992, What to Do About Them was Swirlies’ first release for Taang! Records, collecting the band's earliest recordings from 1991 and 1992. The EP compiles material from their first three 7" singles alongside previously unreleased tracks, capturing the formative years of one of the defining bands of the American shoegaze scene.
The release features “Sarah Sitting” (summer 1991 home recording, first released on the Sarah Sitting 7" on Slumberland Records), the previously unreleased “Tall Ships”, “Upstairs” (recorded in February 1992 at Fort Apache with Tim O’Heir, remixed at Q Division by Rich Costey, with an earlier mix appearing on the Error 7"), and “Her Life of Artistic Freedom”, originally released on the Red Fish Dreams double split 7" with Kudgel in 1992.
