This collection features the first four albums released by the former lead singer of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes on Philadelphia International Records in 1977, 1978, 1979, and 1980.

All four of these albums reached the US Top 20, and both "Teddy" and "Life Is A Song Worth Singing" topped the R&B Albums chart.
